Notes

Application: Microsoft Word. Typefaces: Eurostile, Cambria.

I took TECM 5740, Research Methods for the Practitioner, at UNT during the spring 2013 semester. Dr. Erin Friess was the instructor.

The major project for the semester was a microstudy. I performed mine at my job; I was an information technology technician at Cedar Valley College in Lancaster, Texas. I occasionally had to write user guides on the various software used by our staff. I tested three versions of a document describing how to use a Remote Desktop connection to access a computer in another location on campus. This was a regular operation for staff working open semester registration in the campus common areas.

I don’t do much direct research and user testing, although I very much enjoyed this project. I hope to do more in the future, and this project gave me a solid bit of experience.
